hi when the iPhone is released here in the uk on o2 is it possible to download the firmware to use on my unlocked phone seeing as im on o2 at present and hence not having to worry about o2 locking phones not on their carrier and also being able to update to latest firmware without being bricked many thanks

no, i think (not sure mind) but the brcking and firmware update have nothing to do with o2 as its all done through iTunes, so basically, an update will come up when your iPhone is connected to iTunes and if you install that it will brick your phone if its unlocked, even if you are already on o2

hope this helps (or is right)
