Hey all,

I have been a thorough reader of this forum and know that most of people say that 8 hours of iPhone battery usage is considered good.

But my question is, it is on 2G or 3G.

I am from india and I have just starred using 3G on my iPhone since a last few days. Earlier I used to use only 2G.

On 2G, I used to get around 8-9 hours of usage and now that has reduced to 5.30-6.0 hours on 3G.

So is this a normal behaviour? Also, I would like to add is that 3G infrastructure in India is being laid down. It's been only a few months. Could that be a reason for the less efficient implementation of 3G and hence less battery usage?

I think that battery life is always dependent on your location, and how strong a signal the device is receiving. It is not uncommon for a iPhone to have around 6/8 hours of battery life.

But there are lots of steps you can take to preserve your battery, check on this forum or google.
