has anyone figured out how to safely change the battery on the iPhone?

I searched in yhese forums and did not see any discussions on this topic.

Anyone know how and where to buy the battery?

I thought the battery for the iPhone can last up for 2 years?

I was looking up on some iPhone youtube video and I found this video.

It says something about getting new battery replaced after few years (5:12 on the video)

For the exceptionally heavy user, I can see the battery "wearing" out relatively quickly. For the casual user, I can't see battery life becoming an issue before a next generation iPhone is released. I plan on keeping mine until the next generation is released, which should be sometime in 2008.

Or you can send it to Apple to replace without risk or warranty voiding.

If you are a heavy user that will run through batteries, then Applecare is for you.

no can do. My phone is jailbroken and unlocked. They probably wouldn't service it. Even if I do a restore, they would still know.

No biggie though. I'm just a heavy user and want to know what I would do if my phone's battery died on me or got really bad.

Another thing that scares me is if I lose or drop n damage my phone. I wouldn't be too thrilled about paying for a version 1.1.1 from eBay for 300 bucks over the retail price to unlock and use.

Am I the only person with these anxieties or are there others out there in the same boat?
