If I don't have service for my iPhone 3GS will it function like a iPod touch? I understand that it won't allow certain apps too work but will wifi still work for some?

I have turned a 3G & a 3GS into iPods. My 6 year old used them before I bought him an iPod touch.

Me too. My old 3G is married to my home entertainment system and my old 3 is converted to an iPod in my car. Works great. And yes the apps work.

yes, works fine but if it's for a young kid make sure they know not to mess with the dialer. It can still dial 911 even with no paid service.

I haven't seen an app that wouldn't work except when there was no wi-fi and then the same thing applies to the touch. The app store even still works.

I did the same thing but had a problem.

When I hooked up iPhone 4s to iTunes it reloaded my 3G info to my 4S!

I had to set it all up again.

How can I keep these on iTune and show 2 of them!
