and your phone is on silent - your set alarm will still go off.

I did not know this.

I know this now.

So does the pastor and the congregation.

Right in the middle of the sermon. Yep. Middle of the sermon.

Go ahead and laugh at me

I felt horrible. I would have left it in the truck but I thought it was on silent! I had no idea the alarm still went off. I usually don't have an alarm set at that time. Leaving it in the truck next week. *face palm*

I don't use the Alarm I never used one ever.
That said I am not certain iOS 6 let's you change the alarm to specific dates.
I saw many threads with iOS5, people complaining about this.
That said there are apps who let you specific set days and times for alarms

I can just imagine the 'looks'. Could you imagine if you were in the cinema, right in the middle of Taken 2, or The Dark Knight Rises'?

Yep, that would require a 'side eye stare' :)

If I want to make sure my phone is silent I always set the ringer to vibrate with the switch and turn the volume all the way down using the hard key on the side of the phone. I've found that some apps and services recognize the mute button, others ignore that and key off the volume setting. I set both to silent just to be safe.

Just the alarm buzz (bad enough). Could you imagine if it was one of my favorite Slipknot songs? Hahahaha

Sent from my iPhone 5 using iCafe app
The first 4 seconds of Vermilion is my one of my alerts. :D

But it's not really as bad as me forgetting to put my phone on vibrate when our new director was doing his introduction back in Aug. And my phone starts ringing 20 mins into his speech. But I wasn't the only that did that during that meeting. :ROFLMAO: So I didn't feel too bad.

This whole thread reminds me on how much the "Do Not Disturb" function can improve. Using GPS, can't Apple allow the phone to go into "Do Not Disturb" mode when at a place like church? Library? That feature would be awesome! If it can reminder me to pick up milk when I enter a Target, it should certainly be able to do this...
