OLD NEWS ... never upgraded before . so this is for all those upgrade
first timers.

Will I pay an upgrade fee?
Yes. You will pay an $18 upgrade fee.

AT&T is charging an upgrade fee !

Click Current customers .

so .. new contracts will not have this update fee?

So basically if that is true . the loyal true Apple fans who got the original iPhone will pay and extra $18 bucks .. but we wont pay that $36 activation fee again .

Sometimes, depending on the person helping you, you can get the fees waived but it doesn't always work. Hopefully you're somewhat familiar with your phone salesperson.

So, they are going to charge me and my husband $36 for joining AT&T!?!? WOW! Isn't the excitement of getting new customers by the boatload wih 2yr contracts enough?!?

Is that $36 per line? We are getting a family plan.

yes, and its like that at EVERY cell phone company (t-mobile and sprint both charge $35 activation), its not just AT&T

i believe its 36 for the first line, and then 18 for each additional line, but im not 100% positive on that. it may be $36 per line
