<Threads merged. Cleaned up. Stickied. Added to related stories under iPhone Rate Plans Announced story. >
I thought something was going on. The other thread was the first to break the news though.

Holy poop! Best news ever. I think I woke up everyone in my apartment building when I opened this thread.. lol.

I also at first thought the data plan was 59.99 when I first read it.. I was about to cry and then I understood after I went to the Apple website.
The plan they are offering is the best offered by AT&T!
I honestly couldn't ask for more..

Hurry up Friday! I have my fold out chair and ice chest and ipod and DS all ready to go!

This is the ABSOLUTE BEST news to wake up to ever!

$20? I was ready to pay $40! I just made $20 mental dollars a month! $240 dollars a year! 480 dollars over the course of the plan!

this is the second happiest i will be short of actually holding my phone.

Perfect. A man at a ATT store in my area told me last week the cheapest I could get was 79.99 with 450 minutes. I guess I was misinformed.

What if I have the MEdia Basic Bundle? I know that is not available for the iPhone so I would think it would automatically cancel when I switch.

Does this mean there will be no fee for people not eligible for an upgrade. I imagine myself opening my bill with a $175 charge on it.
No fee whatsoever. All you need to do is select the existing customer tab and you'll start getting charged $20 a month more if you only choose the 200 sms version.:laugh2:

Of course you can. It will just cost 20 a month on top of any existing plan you have. For instance I have a 9.99 line. My monthly charge would be 29.99. 20 *data and text+ADD A LINE charge.
this is wrong. i thought that too. it's even BETTER! if you check Apple
and click on family tab it's only $10.01 more for unlimited data.

original AT&T family plan prices:
700 min $69.99 | 1400 min $89.99 | 2100 min $109.99

:cool:family iplans with unlimited data/vvm/200sms
700 $80.00 | 1400 $100.00 | 2100 $120.00

Awesome. Where does it say it exactly? I don't know how much I pay per month. So your saying its 10 For unlimited data on a family plan?

WOW... Now I'm even more thrilled! I was thinking after a voice & Data plan my monthly charges would be over 100.00 and I was willing to pay that but now.. WOW.... This is GREAT! About the same I'm paying Tmobile for my crappy RAZR plan... without internet.... WooHoo!

I believe what that means is that it's $10.01 for the data on the parent line, and then the $20 data charge and the $9.99 add a line fee for any additional lines on the family plan.

doubt it. sorry, but all AT&T family plans include 2 phone lines then 9.99 for additional lines. the small print is referring to multiple iPhones. however, the *includes 1 line part might just mean they didn't want to get into confusing small print explaining it in regards to multiple iPhones. so...you are probably 50% right 50% wrong. i know you don't add $20 for data is says in plain site that is included in those prices. each add on line is 9.99 unless its an iPhone and then 29.99

anyone know if the 450 minutes are all you get for anytime? basically, are there unlimited night and weekend minutes?

edit: nevermind. I'm an idiot. I hadn't actually checked out the Apple site yet where it clearly states this.

Hey guys just a heads up. If you are already an AT&T customer with a text package REMOVE IT! It will stay on your bill along with the iPhone Plan.
Nothing serious and nothing a 2 minute phone call can't fix. Remember though only those who the account holder deems may make changes to the plan.
wait, what? Why would i want to remove it? Does the data plan include texts?

edit: nevermind, i just saw the included 200 texts...thanks.

I wonder what they are limiting you on iPhone purchases at a time? Looks like the ebay sellers will be out in full force on Friday if all you need is an iTunes account to sign up for the service.

I think that's only for new customers. If you're an existing customer it's $20 more than the voice plan you currently have.

Each familytalk plan comes with two lines at it's lowest price. Additional lines are 9.95 for regular phones and $29.95 for iPhones.

Taking the $100 family plan - 1400 minutes. It looks as if you have to add $29.99 for each additonal iPhone. So, you're looking at $130 for 1400 minutes. $65 for 700 minutes each and unlimited nights/weekends. If you went individual, it would be $80 for 900 minutes and unlimited nights/weekends. It appears to be the sweet spot between the $60 entry level plan (5000 nights/weekends) and the $80 plan.

Then again, who needs more than 5000 minutes for nights/weekends in a month?

Not true... the fine print on the Apple page with the Family plans reads as follows:

*Includes one line. Additional iPhone lines are $29.99 each. More SMS text messages can be added to any plan.
