Just cancel your current one and add this one.
I think that would work, however, have you ever added or subtracted any features with AT&T? They just screw everything up. I didn't want to, but I think I have to get the iP{hone at an AT&T store.

I've never had a problem but I'm only one person maybe I'm lucky.

I just took off the media.net 9.99 bundle and added that 4.99 text plan a few months ago and it went fine.

If you can live without data for the next 3 days I would remove it now then add the iPhone plan on Friday to minimize confusion.

I've had them over five years now and never had a problem with features or changing plans.

yes, but those are not the new plans that they announced for the iPhone. go to the iPhone part of att's website and there is a link to look at the iPhone plans on Apple's website.

Well I was checking out the website in regards to family plans...if I were to choose not to go with the $80+ iPhone family deal. In general, if you choose a family plan it looks like you also need to choose a texting service. So you may have a $69.99 family plan and then a 4.99, 9.99, etc texting plan? Anybody have any recommendations on what would be a good texting plan for someone with an iPhone? ( I mean I know there are picture and text capabilities on the iPhone..but you wouldn't need a plan to share video cause that is not option right?) Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

You're already getting texts with the data plan. If you need more, just upgrade the data plan. You wouldn't add a texting plan to that line.

200 msg = $20 more
1500 msg = $30 more
unlimited msg = $40 more

I'm confused by the whole "family plan" (which i currently have 5 phones on). If i am the only member of my family getting an iPhone, do i just upgrade my family plan, or do they just charge me the extra $20? Or is it extra $20 plus what data plan i need?

I don't believe the iPhone will support tethering at this point, even if you add the laptop connect. It has to also be a feature of the phone.

You just add the $20 data plan on.

if i understand...if you want to keep your current plan they just add $20 to include unlimited data/vvm and 200sms

Family Plan Pricing

Just to clear things up, I called ATT, and the $80 family plan price point would never be used in real life. That price includes only 1 phone line and iPhone data plan. If you are purchasing 2 iPhones, you'll need to add $29.99 to the cost, making the lowest iPhone family plan $109.99.

Unlike the rest of the Family plans on ATT, the base price includes ONE LINE ONLY.

If you want a lower family plan price, you could buy the $59.99 family plan (550 minutes) and add 2 iPhone data plans, setting the cost at $99.99.

Hopefully this will save a few people from being surprised on Friday! :)

Did anyone else catch the $36 activation fee on the pricing video. I have never had to pay that before!
