My iPhone connects to the home wifi network quickly and easily when I do it manually. When you put the phone to sleep it requires me to reconnect every time manually even though I have it set to auto connect in the settings.

Is there a solution?

Doesn't sound normal, but it's hard to say. My iPhone connects to WiFi seamlessly, though I had to change APs at home to get it to work right. My symptoms (with the old AP) were worse than yours however, as once I lost connection I could very rarely reconnect manually.

Now that I've remembered more-and-more additional WLANs my iPhone seems to auto-connect to them just fine (and again, seamlessly). How does your iPhone work with other WLANs?

It doesn't Auto Connect to anything.

My Wi-Fi is on the "On" position

Ask to join networks is in the "Off" position so it says that known networks will be joined automatically etc.

My home network shows up in the network list etc... just doesn't auto connect.

:(

Stopped by the local Genius bar. They toggled on Airplane mode, toggled it off, then also hit the reset network settings button and it seems to be working fine now.

Thank you local genius :)
