Help! The audio output for the iPod feature is extremely distorted, it's as if only one channel is playing through, though only on the headphones. The internal speakers sound great. I've tried a few diff sets of headphones but at no avail. Any advice? (eq is set to off)

Thanks.

I feel like I'm listening to music under water with a head cold.

Tony, my headphones don't even work if I don't use the Apple ones that come with it. Notice the extension is extra long than other headsets...I think that might be your problem.

Or are you using the Apple headphones and its still distorted?

Unfortunately I AM using the iPhone headset, which leads me to believe my lovely new iPhone may have some serious problems.

I've just tried resetting settings and still, it sounds like hell.

I went through 3 sets of the Apple headphones, that I got at the Apple Store, since I live 5 minutes away. They are not ready for prime time yet. Do yourself a favor and do not buy the Apple headset. I also question the adapter they sell, I tried three of those as I have some other very nice headsets already.

I think it's just one of two things.
1) They shipped the iPhone too soon with this as a bug.
2) You (and I) have defective iPhones.
