To make the connection...

Go to start
Then run
Type cmd

In the prompt window
Type cd\ then hit enter
Type cd phonedmgthen hit enter
Type jailbreak then hit enter

Then it will ask you to push and hold the HOME & POWER button
keep holding it until the command prompt window does something, then let go. It will boot the phone.

Now this is where you can use "iPhoneinterface"

You only have to do Jailbreak once (unless you restore your phone)
If you already jaikbreak your phone, skip that step.

I haven't been able to use iPhoneinterface since the update either. It opens up and shuts right down. I have been using mazana, it works great!

I have only had my phone for a couple days.. so i have always had the new update.. (it updated the day i got it)

And "iPhoneinterface" has always worked for me.

Another thing you can try ManzanaUI

Its graphic interface (GUI), Download it.
Save it to the phonedmg folder

Go to start
Then run
Type cmd

In the prompt window
Type cd\ then hit enter
Type cd phonedmgthen hit enter

Go to your phonedmg and click on the manzanaUI.exe Icon

This will open up a program with all the directory's
All you do is go to where you want to put the file
And drag and drop the file where they belong.

I can make a write up on it once i get home. (At work right now)

When do you let go of the HOME/POWER button?

I always let it go once i see activity in the command prompt window.
Now when the iPhone says connect to iTunes.

They stressed this in the guide i used, not sure if matters.

I let go when the "connecting to Itune" sign comes up...
