My iPod just makes a clicking sound and the screen flashes when I connect it to either a charger or to iTunes on my PC. I'm assuming the battery is pooched. Can the battery be replaced or no?

    1. Does it accept a charge?
    2. Does iTunes recognize it?
    3. Does it work when it's not plugged in?

I'd take it to Apple for a diagnostic and quote for a repair. It might be the hard drive. The battery and hard drive tutorials on iFixit are both listed as very difficult.

No to all. All it will do is click and flash.

Sounds like a bad hard drive.

Europa. Do you know which iPod this is? I've had it for 6 or 7 years, now. I think it's called the classic, but I'm not sure. It's 160 GB image.jpg

The reason I wasn't sure is, I saw a clear case for the Classic, at the Apple store. It wouldn't fit properly. So, I'm wondering, is there different classics?
