I'm thinking of buying, an iPhone, it's hip and cool gadget.
But I have a basic question. How does this phone compare to Android phones?
I am currently using the Galaxy SII is about Is it worth it to change?

In before the lock.

Both are very good phones. If you are hooked on Android and love it you may not want to switch. I just gave up my GS3 and while I miss some things I'm very happy. Especially with the better battery life. If you love Android and are very invested in that ecosystem with Apps, etc you might not want to switch. There are a few limitations that the iPhone has that Android can do but it is not nearly as big of a deal as many Android enthusiasts will have you believe. I say give it a try. You have 14 days to take it back.

It doesn't take a Genius to answer your question. The successor to your current phone is clearly better than an iPhone 5.

Okay, I'm just making fun of Samsung--hopefully that was obvious.

The iPhone 5 is better. No question about it. Don't believe those people over at everythingAndroid.com...

I, for one, don't use an iPhone because its cool or hip. I just enjoy using the iPhone over Android and Windows phones. I've used them all but prefer iOS.

Do you like and enjoy Android? Are you heavily invested in Apps ect from the play store?

If so get the Galaxy S3.. It's a very nice upgrade from the S2!

If you are not heavily invested in Android then I would say get the iPhone 5 as it's a better device than the S3 in my opinion..

iPhone 5 pluses over the S3:

--Not plasticity / made by Toys-R-Us feeling
--Faster and smoother OS
--No carrier branding (makes the S3 look ugly)
--No crapware / bloatware pre installed
--Not cartoony looking like TouchWiz
--Better Apps

It's a matter of what you want and how heavily invested in the Android eco system you are.. Both are nice devices that have +/-.... I had the S3 for 3 weeks and sold it because for me at least, it did not come close to living up to the hype.. I am happy and content with the iPhone 5..

Hope this helps

The beginning of your post clearly wasn't needed.

Both great phones. I looked at the Galaxy and it was very very nice, but its not something I would want in my front pocket all day. It has great features, and I feel it's very equal to the iPhone 5. But with a lot invested in apps and iTunes and the fact the iPhone fits better in my hand and pocket I went with the iPhone. I'm sure whatever you choose you can't go wrong.
