This is very much possible; you only need to be jailbroken.

Download iFile through Cydia, navigate to the folder containing the MP3, and email it to whomever you like.

And iFile does use the Mail app for sending. No problems... just sent a 8.1 MB MP3. Worked fine.

Without JB, this can be done via the MobilMe iDisk proggy...

You can set up an MP3 to be a shared file, and send the e-mail with the link to whomever.

Of course, this means having MM, which isn't what everyone wants to do...

This is a problem I've been racking my brain trying to figure out for awhile before i figured it out. at first i tried jailbreaking the phone and using ifile. and that **** sucked ass. it then found you can use idisk and upload the mp3 to idisk, then get the idisk app and it will let you email music from your iPhone/ipad/ipod I have an iPhone 4 with 4.2 ios. i work making music and i need to be able to email mp3's all the time. so i was relieved. hope this helped you guys
