So I am in need of a new cell phone and I want the 3GS
but due to the fact that i recently got the iPhone 3g i will have to pay full price for the 3gs
I have an option of adding 7 extra lines to my family plan .. this is what i am thinking..

I currently pay 30 dollars plus tax a month for my landline
Which is hardly ever used
I have about 2000 rollover minutes
So what i am thinking is why not cancel my landline, take out a new plan under my family plan (an added 10 dollars a month) get the iPhone 16gb 3gs for only 200 dollars and then cancel the data plan. Buy an att phone on the cheap and use it in replacement of my landline
I will than save 20 dollars every month and have the iPhone at a subsidized price

Sounds good!, am i missing anything here?
also do they have home looking phones that i can stick an att sim card in? just for nostalgia

Give me your input you swines
thanks

You still have a landline? [snickers]

Just turn your hot iPod touch into a wifi skyping machine on Verizon:

Oh great idea Dave, and after that im going to turn my ipod classic into a walkie talkie and try and find someone on the same frequency that i can invite with me to go surfing on an Apple tv that was converted into a boogie board... and maybe after that i can make a grilled cheese sandwhich with my mac book air that i converted into a george forman grill

I think all those bacon sandwhiches are seeping into your brain
That does not answer my question or have anything to do with me getting an iPhone at the subsidized price ...

As if I care about the integrity of your thread. Since when has continuity mattered to you anyway? :sneaky:

Yes, that's a good idea. I did something similar to get a BB a few months ago. Basically, I needed a third line. I went to ATT and had them add a $10 line - no data, no internet, no anything. I used that subsidy, and bought a Bold (long gone at this point). I used the Bold and iPhone on my primary line, went to Best Buy and bought a $15 Nokia which I use on the $10 line. So yes, you're on to something.

I cannot break away from having a landline, despite entirely too many cellphones/plans in my house.

Is your $30 tied to a triple play of sorts? I know most are ...TV, Internet, Phone.
