The specs page on Apple.com says that iTunes 7.3 is a requirement. The current version available is 7.2.

Is everyone assuming that version 7.3 will be released before 6pm Friday in order for all of us to be able to activate our phone?

I would hope they would release sometime before the 29th. I would be a pain to have to go home after buying the iPhone and have to install or download a new iTunes version.

Oh god, not install iTunes. 60 seconds of delayed iPhone gratification!
6 months of waiting, and I still have to wait 60 more seconds! GOD!

It doesn't show through "Check Updates" in iTunes, but I found it on the site. Downloading now.
If you go straight into Software Update its there.
