iTunes outage?

    Since about 1am I've been unable to download anything from iTunes music or apps. Been scouring the web trying to find anything about it with no success.

    I guess my question is, could this just be me? I've got no indication that anything is wrong with my account...I can get in I just can't download anything or buy anything!

    I just gifted an album from iTunes on my Mac two minutes ago, if that helps any. I've also been streaming some song previews without problems. It might just be you, but are you getting any error messages?

    Hey guys thanks!

    I'm lost! No error messages at all...just downloaded apps on my iPad and MacBook but still nothing on the phone. I am very lost and have no idea what to even look at.


    FYI: I logged out of iTunes and then back in on my phone and now show four app updates but none will actually download!

    Would you mind trying to download an app on your phone for me? Something free just to see if it'll work? If you don't want to I totally understand.

    I just downloaded a free app from the App Store with no problem.

    Just downloaded a free app as well, and you're welcome.

    You might try logging out of your account and logging back in. You credit/debit card linked to the account didn't expire, did it? I've had that problem before but got an error message.

    I tried that pal. Logged out and in a couple times and tried hard resets and it works fine on my MacBook and iPad. I think I might be stuck doing a restore! :-(

    This probably goes without saying, but make sure to do a fresh local backup prior to restoring if that's what you end up doing. I'd wait another day or two if possible to see if the problem resolves before restoring, especially if you'll have access to your MB in the meantime. I say that mainly because I have a chock full 64GB device that takes forever to re-sync after a restore.

    I had a problem with an app download earlier today. It was one in my purchased list. It stopped about 1/4 the way on the circle, then I got a pop up that said iTunes could not download at this time. Gave the option to try again, so I did and it slowly downloaded. So, they may be having problems today.

    Thank you for this! I couldn't even get to the point where the download would start but maybe there are some service interruptions based on what you said. I really appreciate it!
