:D I've upgraded from 4 to 8GB. I got it today (1/27/08) and it had 1.1.2 OTB. I was surprised.... The question is, should I jailbreak? I think I'm fine w/o jailbreaking, but knowing I can't break 1.1.3 back down to 1.1.2 bothers me... I just like to have the option. :p

Go ahead and jailbreak. I did on my 1.1.2 iPhone for a few days then got bored with it and changed back to regular old 1.1.2. I mostly like the themes you can use. My other iPhone has 1.1.3. so I get to still use all the fun things on that one. But it's your phone and only you can decide what to do with it.

Congrats on the upgrade. I would say go ahead and jailbreak it if you're even somewhat interested in what you can do. If you just want to tinker around a bit, give it a try and you can always restore and go to 1.1.3.

I sold my 4 gig for $300, so my upgrade was about $130. Not too bad, for a new phone. Basically I paid the difference I would have paid on "iDay".

As for jailbreaking, I upped to 1.1.3. I've had my phone jailbroken all the way from 1.0.2 to 1.1.2 and I just got bored w/the apps. I just miss the customization of SB and Customize - which don't work w/1.1.3. Eh, hopefully the SDK will be worth it.

John - wth?! You only have a 4 gig? That's shocking.

Congrats on your upgrade. Don't even know how you could stand 4 gigs. I filled out my 8 gigs in less than a week of purchasing the phone. Wish there was a 16gig like the touch. :(
