Your friend needs the Xcon package. This will hide your jailbreak from picky apps such as this.

I got the directv app working on an iPhone5/6.1.

This is what I did:

(you need to have ifile installed)

clicked on this link to download the xcon 38 beta 2 deb file: http://goo.gl/RGSEu

When you click on the link, it will ask you what you want to open it with. Choose ifile.

It will do something (I don't remember).

I think I rebooted, it didn't work. I then installed it again, and rebooted again and I was good to go.

Two things to note:

1) I think everything works but video on demand. Not a big deal for me. I just use it to program my PVR.

2) A couple of people said this broke ibooks. I don't know, don't use ibooks.

Can anyone confirm if any of the above fixes work with version 2.4.3 that was put out today?

Yes: I am on xCon 38~beta18 and Directv 2.4.3 still works on my iPhone 4S [6.1.1]

Also: xCon 38~beta18 also works with Directv 1.10.5 [for iPad] on my iPad2 and iPad Mini.

Sorry. Can't do the recon any more. I lost my jailbreak because I had to replace my phone.
