It will be posted there before anywhere else. right now there is not but be sure to READ the top post on that page before you do anything! It states very clearly that the current release does NOT support the 3G iPod.
Yes as long as they haven't been updated to 3.1 already and I'm not sure there's a full proof method of downgrading. I don't pay much attention to 3G or prior as I only have a 3GS but the dev-team blog has all the information on this.
Both solutions are available now. I used blackra1n and haven't had any problems at all (3GS 3.1.2). However, there have been a few reported issues with blackra1n. I'm not sure about devteam's solution but they have always been good about making sure it's 100% ready before releasing anything. Granted it is a longer process of course.
if its a 1st or 2nd gen just do it it works perfect for ipod on windows and there is a mac version too.IF YOU HAVE A MAC AND HAVE ALREADY JAILBROKENON 3.0 OR 3.0.1 U MAY TRY UICKPWN BUT I RECOMMEND THE EASIEST UICKST SOLUTION:BLACKRA1N
I've heard that blackra1n is a tethered solution in that if you ever reboot the phone you have to have it plugged in and blackra1n loaded. I've rebooted my device multiple times and even turned it completely off and back on without having to plug it in. :/ is this only if you were to let the battery completely drain?
