i'm still on 2.0 jailbroken with my 3g, but my little sister updated to 2.0.2 against my better judgment and didn't realize it would take away most of her customization options. i tried doing a restore with the custom firmware i built using pwnagetool for her, but it says an unknown error has occurred and won't run it, so i had to restore to 2.0.2. i haven't paid much attention to 2.0.2 right now because i am totally satisfied on 2.0, but does quickpwn work on macs or just pc's? if anyone can help out or point me in the right direction i'd really appreciate it.

I restored and also got the 2.0.2 firmware. Last night I jailbroke my 3g using my Mac. I went to iclarified.com, they had a whole tutorial and video. It was super easy and I did it in about 20 minutes. Hope that helps

I'm thinking about doing this.
There are a few q's I have before I attack it, though...

First it says my Modem Firmware is 02.08.01

Version is 2.0.2

If I do this (and it doesn't look to complicated, I think I can handle it), what I want to know is- should I no longer do updates after I have done this?
Will it affect the future of my iPhone? I have the service plan- will Apple still work on my iPhone if needed, or if they find out will they say-"sorry, lady".

Once jailbroken, how does this work? I have no idea. I just know I want to use third party apps (I want my own sounds). Is it easy to manipulate?
