Hi,

I am getting an iPhone soon, and wondered if I jailbreak it and want to put it back to stock would I just do this through the normal restore process in iTunes? How would I restore if the Jailbreak made my iPhone hang on the Apple logo?

There seems to be so many advantages of jailbreaking, but there is a risk attached and I don't want to brick my iPhone after just buying it.

There is always a risk, but 99% of the issues you might come across can be resolved by Restoring.

You simply restore the phone in iTunes which removes the jailbreak and restores the phone to factory specs.

But say it hangs on the Apple logo on boot, (like I have seen others do) how would I restore from that?

I'm not sure what causes that issue. I've never seen it on either of my phones nor have I ever had any problem with a restore. I'm using Vista x64.

Not sure if this will help but while looking into other things about the iPhone on youtube I found this.
