Jailbroke- can you use another carrier?

    I had someone Jailbreak my iPhone 4...does that mean it can be used with any carrier now? Or is it just able to get free apps?

    I just want to know if a phone is Jailbroke, does that mean you can use it with any carrier? Or is my phone stuck with ATT for its life time.

    No, that doesn't mean you can use it with any carrier. It will never work with Sprint or Verizon because they are CDMA carriers and your phone only has a GSM radio chip. You have to unlock it if you want to use it with T-Mobile. A software unlock is not available for 5.0. You can use a GEVEY SIM unlock if you're still on 4.x and using a 3GS or an iPhone 4.

    UltraSn0w 1.2.5 is out, it supports IOS 5.0.1 firmware....it's dependant on your baseband though for a successful unlock...:)
