Contacts can be saved to your sim card
Also you could set up an Microsoft Exchange account
It's located at Settings/Mail/Add Account
Slow down. Contacts ARE NOT saved to your sim card on an iPhone.

Where on your computer have you been saving your contacts?

I guess I am wrong here but AT&T can back up your contacts to your sim (I am not certain if you can do it yourself) and then you only need to go to settings/mail/import SIM contacts

I wonder if you already restored from back up and now are looking for your connacts or are you about too? if you haven't done so the Exchange Account is best route. My Hubby switched e-mail accounts (let's say I did it for him) and we used this method to transfer his contacts from msn.com to iPhone 3Gs to gmail.com

I suggest you don't give advice if you don't know what you're talking about, as good as your intentions may be.

Back up your contacts to yahoo or googles address book then you can sync them back from iTunes under the info tab.

TheMicrosoft exchange works with your e-mail account and syncs up both kind like mobilme also does calendars and mail you have the choice to turn those on and off. What you need to set it up is of course your contacts in a maill account lets say gmail. Then you add account /exchange/ and enter your e-mail (no need for domain and username is your e-mail )then your password and then it will ask for the server which for gmail would be m.google.com

I suggest you don't be so rude to strangers

I do not know you have restored from a backup, now is your connacts or you find it? If you have not done so, the best way to foreign currency accounts...
