I have tried to search for this topic without any luck. I am probably wishing for the impossible but is there a way to put my music on my iPhone and then remove it from the syncing computer without it removing it from the iPhone?
I sync using my work computer due mainly to Outlook and most of my calendar, contacts and such being work related. I have some music that I purchased from iTunes and have that synced onto my phone. The problem is that it puts a copy of the music on my work computer which is in voilation with my companies policies. I want to have the music on my iPhone but if I tell it to not sync the music it removes it from the phone as well.
Does anyone know a way around this or am I hoping for the unreachable goal? Thanks everyone.

Have you tried performing a manual sync?
Launch iTunes.
Under Summary, check the "Sync only checked songs and videos"
Click the Music pane and uncheck "Sync music".
Click the Info pane and make sure you check the ones pertaining to Calendar, etc.

If the iPhone still transfers your songs to your work computer,
Go to the Music pane and check "Sync music"
Check "Selected playlists" and uncheck everything that shows up under it.

Hope this works for ya...
