Ok so my iPhone has a bunch of music on it and I want to listen to it from my laptop. I don't care to transfer the music or anything.. I just want to listen to it. I have no other way of listening to it because my desktop isn't with me, and my speakers wont plug into it (recessed plug..).

When I plug it into my laptop (its a mac).. all the music is greyed out so I can't do anything with it. It also doesn't show up as an external hard drive or anything in the mac HD (I know very little about macs, and that really bothers me).

Please I just want to listen to my music haha

Is your phone jailbroken? I only ask because there is a piece of software called MediaFlyServer which when activated will make your iPhone show up in iTunes as a shared playlist and you can listen to the music over Wifi from the iPhone. I've done it a bunch and it works just fine.
