Can you lock the screen of the iPad in one orientation?

Reason I ask, I have an excellent navigation App Navionics HD.

Few days ago a few icons disappeared on me. The App company said it was because the iPad was in landscape not portrait mode.

Sure enough icon's came back, but simply by twisting iPad to portrait-no lock involved, or am I missing something here.

Yes, you can lock the iPad screen into any position by tapping the home button twice, and slide your finger to the right, till you see the orientation lock icon.

Machog, if by chance the software on your iPad has not been updated to 4.2.1, the lock switch is on the upper right side of the iPad. If it is updated, that switch is the mute - how wild is it that one switch can have such varied functions!

I've got a dumber question for you: how do I post a link to my facebook or twitter page on my signature bar?

Be gentle....I really don't know!
Me! Me! Me! I know this one!

  1. Go to Settings > Edit Signature
  2. Write your signature (a Caddyshack quote always breaks the ice).
  3. Select the text you want to link.
  4. Hit the world icon with the chain.
  5. Insert the URL of your link and hit Ok.
  6. Hit the Save Signature button and... That's it!
