Has LTE in LA, around Hollywood and LAX, has it improved any? I heard back in October it was very slow. Does anyone know if its been fixed?

They're letting you go? lol :p

Bring extra battery packs. LTE drains your battery.

Another question: what's the best battery pack? I know mophie, but that's 2,500mAh. There's a targus one very similar to the mophie for the same price rated at 4,000mAh.

Are there any others that are good and small for $50?

I really like Mophie, but they are a little more expensive than some of the others. If you want a battery case, the Mophie Juicepack is a great choice, but there are a lot of options if you just want an external charger. I have a Mophie that cost $50 and a New Trent that cost about $55. The New Trent provides several full charges whereas the Mophie is only good for one. I use the New Trent at home and carry the Mophie with me since it's more portable. So it really depends on what size charger you're looking for.

Trent seems really well! Is there a big difference? Cause I'll be wearing khaki cargo shirts so I'll needs decent room to charge my iPhone and have that in there. Portability and mAh is a huge factor.

BTW- We are going to eat at an In and Out burger! :)

I'll post a comparison pic in a little while to show the size difference.

I'm pretty sure the In-N-Out in LA is the same size as the one where you live.

    Haha!

Mac, when you go to In-N-Out, look for two crossed palm trees outside the restaurant. That's their signature.

From the bottom to the top is the New Trent iGeek with dual USB ports (9,900 mAh), New Trent IMP 100 (11,000 mAh), mophie juicepack boost (2,000 mAh), and mophie juicepack powerstation mini (2,500 mAh). As you can see from the top down view, the New Trents aren't that much wider than the iPhone. Any of these would fit in a cargo pocket. These all cost between $50 and $70. It just depends on which size is best for you.

Welcome to L.A. Unfortunately, I don't have the iPhone 5 so I don't know how good the LTE experience is around L.A. In N Out is very popular here, and there is one about a mile from where I live but I never eat there. I think the last time was back in 2007.
