I just posted an ad in the classified here at my school this morning for my V1. I have an offer for $300, do you think I should take it, I am very tempted. It will only cost me approx $120 over 2 years (200 for iPhone 3G, and $10 more a month for 24 months, $220 - $100 = $120)

I think I might give in!

I think $300 is a very good offer especially since you don't have to mess with shipping and paypal, ect.
I gave in about 6 weeks ago and really like the phone. Build isn't as good as the V1, but still good solid phone and feels better in the hand. I say go for it if it is within your budget.

I am thinking I am going to do it. My only concern that I just thought about is that I am on a family plan with my dad as the primary account holder. Will he need to be there with me when I get the phone, or can I just the last 4 of his SSN? I have heard ATT go both ways, where they require that person be there or the last 4 of SSN works as well. Fingers crossed that I do no need him to be there! He is 300 miles away.

Oh wow. I guess he could call to give the OK if it came down to it. I would lean toward this plan so there is no confusion come time to get the phone.
Problem is you could call the ATT store,be told one thing and then get there and get a different story.

I am going to call there tomorrow, They were closed when I called. I really hope that if he does need to do anything he can do it via telephone.

I kind of wish they made the white in 8gig. I just don't need that must space for my music. One of my friends has it, it is much more aesthetically pleasing to hold.

I was/am extremley happy with my 3g as opposed to my V1. Personally, I think it's a better phone. If you plan on unlocking, then that's another story.

Dammit, you guys are making we want to get a 3G. :p My 4GB can't hold an 8th of my music, and then you add in photos, videos, and apps, and I have no space left now. Grrr..

White 16g 3g here. Excellent device. I don't know if it'll take a fall like the v1, but other than that it's quite the superior piece.

I am loving it so far! I am slowly getting used the "warmth" of the screen. Also, does it not show the edge logo? I am not in 3G coverage, but no edge logo appears.

What do you get? If you're on 2.1 FW, you should get a blue E (no box) on Edge.

Matt! How are you liking the 3G? I love mine. It is a little lighter than V1, which I really like and the 3G is really snappy when using the internet. I got the white because I saw my BIL black one first and it was very smudgy. The white does not show the smudges as badly.

Koko, I love it! It feels great in my hand while calling/texting/EIC ing. The only unfortunate thing is that I am not in 3G covereage area :(

psylicon, here is a screenie of my lack of edge icon. Anyone else have this issue?

Have you never had the edge icon? Do a hard reset and see what happens.
If you have never had the icon, I would call ATT.
