I have an iPad mini 2, and am wondering if there is a valid reason to upgrade to mini 3. The only thing that's new is the touch ID.

Any comments?

Apple pretty much ignored the mini. The Air got a faster processor, more RAM and a better camera. The mini got none of those things. It just got Touch ID and an option for gold and more storage space. I don't like gold. I don't need 128 GB. Touch ID isn't worth a few hundred dollars to me. I'm keeping my iPad mini 2 and waiting for next year.

I think I'll do the same. I've heard that Apple may discontinue the mini.
That's a rumor that from what I understand proved to be false. I don't see any reason for them to discontinue the iPad mini.

I think it works the same, you don't need to upgrade to mini 3
