My phone is displaying everything backwards. I have to hold it up to a mirror to see what it displays. I tried to restore it to 3.1.2 and it still doesn't display correctly. Even the silver Apple that shows when powering on is backwards. The weird part is that the touch part still reacts how it should, just everything on the display is backwards. I don't know if I am explaining correctly so what I am trying to say is that I still touch where the 1 should be to push one, but it shows a backwards three. Also all the icons are reversed and the keyboards. Everything.

The last app I installed was the Android lock and it was working fine so I don't really thing that is the problem. I thought that after I did the restore it resets all the settings, but there must be some file somewhere on it that needs to be manually changed. I don't really have any expierience with ssh, but have used iPhonebrowser to copy videos I take with cycorder.

ANY help or recommendations would be welcome and VERY appreceiated.
Thanks

here are pics.

The one where I am pushing on the left side where the phone icon is you can see that the phone icon is showing itself as being pushed.
You can also see when I slide to unlock how it reacts.

I restored the phone in DFU mode several times. I also updated to 3.1.3 and then downgraded back to 3.1.2. I have tried it on 3 different computers all running the latest version of iTunes.

Could it be hardware?

That's just strange...

I honestly have never heard of this happening? Have you dropped the phone at all? The only thing I can think of is the screens connection may have become dislodged or something. Very strange!

This is also a first for me. If all else fails, sell it on e-bay, as is. It would probably become a collectors item! I can't believe restoring it as new did not fix the issue.

Weird. I've never heard of this. Since restoring to factory settings didn't work, I have no suggestions other than taking it to Apple.

thanks for all the replies. I will try to open it and see if it is a loose connection. I was hoping it was some hidden file that needed changed or something easy as Ihave never taken a phone apart. I will post again and let you know the results. Thanks

NOPE haha. Thanks.

PS, I'm calling shenanigans on this. The photos are just flipped...
Could be. I can't find any visual cues in the background or on his iPhone. I also couldn't find any in the reflections.

EDIT: On further investigation, I duplicated his last (7th) shot. The camera orientation in the reflection (from the iPhone's dialer screen) seems to be correct, so who knows?

Also he cuts off all the other pictures so you can't see the sleep button or the silence switch on the side. You can almost see the silence switch in this one on the right.

Based on those pictures, I would consider getting a new screen protector before sorting out the backwards issue. Priorities, ya know?
