This is just a lite version that won't do active route guidance but it's free and should be a nice way to get a feel for Navigon's app before the full paid version comes out. It's 1.29GB and I'm thinking it would be a great alternative to Google Maps since it won't require a network connection to browse the maps.

You can find it here (link opens iTunes).

I'm downloading it now, but it's taking a while since it's such a large file...

I got it, it's nice as a demo for the program, but worthless as any kind of guidance program. I get it, they don't have the GPS routing working, though it will track you in real time, but it would be nice to at least see how they route things, which you can't do with the lite version.

It's a lot of memory to just see a demo. But, at least you see a demo of a place in your vicinity. And you also get to play with the UI.

It seems pretty good to me.

There isn't a paid version for North America yet. And I'm still holding out for Tom Tom. I like their hardware GPS boosting solution.
