With the new release of the iPhone 3GS, i am sure many original iPhone users are going to buy it and 3G owners are going to want to upgrade.

Whos getting it? Why? Are you going to sell your old phone?

Unless they say something in the next 5 minutes that really impresses me I won't be in a hurry to pick up the "new and improved" 3GS.

I will probably get it BUT I am going to way a month or two b/c when I got the 3g a month after release it still sucked. I sold it and went back to a v1. So since I wasted a upgrade I have to buy full retail. So I will definitely wait.

I'm getting one! Maybe. Do you think AT&T will offer an upgrade option for 3g owners. I'm also all over getting the Macbook "Pro" 13" but I just got my unibody in November. Apple is about to make me break the bank

If there is a major announcement at all within the next 5 minutes, sure.
Good solid upgrades, but a little disappointing as well.

100 dollar 8 gig is interesting though.

Probably not, unless I can sell my current 8g 3G for $200 on eBay..

Forget it, unfortunately they are selling the 8gig new for 100 dollars.
that's still subsidized price. full retail new will probably be $299. $200 isn't unreasonable at all.

Ah good, didn't catch that on the liveblogs.
Anyways, all the better, I might be getting rid of my 16 gig now.

I doubt I'll be getting it. 3.0 mp camera? meh, especially with no flash. video? again, not too excited. better processor, battery, and more memory yet still can't run apps in the background? I'll just keep my 3G.

I'm with you on this one. It's not the update I was looking for and certainly isn't grounds to justify getting a new unit.

I'll probably get it just cause my v1 is dying all the time cause of battery and the wifi no longer works.

Im getting it and VERY excited.
I didn't upgrade to the 3G so I have been on Edge while all my friends have been on 3G for a year now.
Really excited to finally have 3G and also the new and improved camera/video as well as voice command.

I wanna know if they will let recent 3G purchasers upgrade ealry without the $200 ETF.

If Apple's not going to replace my 3g (charging issues) I have no choice but to upgrade... :(

The new features are nice, and yes, itsa little faster, but I can't justify spending $300 for a 32GB model. Unless Apple offers an incentive for 3G owners to make the leap. But, with the 3G being lowered to $99 (take that Pre), I don't see Apple moving away from the 3G owners yet. I'll wait until the next big release.
