I was really hoping Apple would change the look from iPhone 3G to iPhone 3GS.They went with the same exact look. Why? How disappointing!

Theres not too much they can do.
At the very least I would have liked to see them go with a different material for the back but whatever.

No matte finish...sucks IMO. Oh well, $299 saved.

(and that isn't the only reason I'm not upgrading haha)

To me, any design change would be a change for change's sake. The 3G still has a great form factor. Besides, they're going to continue to sell the 3G alongside, so they don't want it to look "dated" by comparison.

Would have loved the matte upgrade.

well the advantage is that no new accessories are needed to revert back to the way we like our current iPhones

I would have loved the matte. But for now.. I'm agreeing with Dave. I really like the feel of the 3G - the way it fits in your hand is great, and in addition to that, anything would feel better than the scratched up aluminum backing of my V1. I just need to decide - black or white?

I change up the look of my 3G with a case. I have several so I am glad that they didn't change the look. That way if I upgrade I can still use my cases that I already purchased.

Whose phone is still naked? *gasp*

nice thought, yes any other form would have made the 3g look dated

Yehh im leaning towards black....but everyone has black...and like white is more of a statement because the minority of users have them...

Sucks. No upgrading here. 3.0 will be fine

Two other pluses in my opinion:

1. The V1 still has a standout look and thus will hold its market value (I'm going to sell one of our V1s to help pay for me and the wife's new 3GSs)

2. I've got lots of case options right off the bat, although I know the one I want already, so I can go ahead and get those orders in now. :)

I go naked sometimes.. More often than not... :laugh2:

I have one of those cool cases, but it makes mine feel bulky...

Like ODB says.. "oooh baby I like it raawwwwwww"

I think I'm going to go for black, as I've seen some white 3G's that show off the dirt they've picked up. I also think I'll get the 32 GB so I won't have to go without so I can fit some more of my music on there - with 4GB currently, I can carry about 1/5 of my music with me.

I have had my V1 for a year and half now and my aluminum back doesn't hasn't one single scratch on it. Apple logo and metal rim do but no the back. I will try to sell mine on ebay but I have a nice tiny crack in the bottom left corner.
