I have the iPhone 4 and when I open up a picture. Whether I hit camera or photos, in the top right I have an edit button. My friends also has a 4 and her phone doesn't have the edit button. How can I change that or add it. Thanks.

That may be the difference. Your friend needs to make sure it's on the latest iOS.

Fact: your friend must have at least iOS 5 in order to be able to edit photos within the Photo app on her iPhone 4. If she is still on iOS 4 and would like to update - beware that the photos will be deleted during the update process. Only photos located in her Camera Roll could be restored from an iTunes backup.
