The phone locked up and I had to reboot it. When it came back up, there was no radio contact at all. The cell signal indicator was at 0 bars, there was no carrier, GPRS, or EDGE indicator, and toggling airplane mode on and off didn't work. I had to go to BossPrefs and disable EDGE, then reenable it to get it to finally turn on.

Is this common? Is it caused by a specific application that I can fix by removing?

restore it.

it would be much work trying to figure out exactly what caused it, so just restore and reuse ziPhone.

good day.

It actually hasn't happened once since I posted it. Weird how that stuff works. O_o

In case I need to restore it anyway...is there a way for me to restore it but keep my content intact? i.e. if I restore it as a new phone, it's going to delete my camera pictures, text messages, recent call history, etc... I'd rather keep all that

No, unfortunately the only real thing you can keep if you plan to restore and Jailbreak again is Contacts and your Music/Videos/Podcasts
