Thats 16 apps per screen times 9 and minus a few for the stock ones.
How is the apps store going to address this I wonder. Putting anymore home screens on the phone will make it a chore to get to say screen 38.

Surely you should be able to decide which apps you want or need at any one time. Any app you download will still be stored on your computer just like a song. IF you decide to remove it, you can always add it back later.

Well not everyone is going to want all of the apps.

Many people are probably just getting a few of the things they need, since not every app is needed/wanted for each person.

This is when you will want a Jailbreak mod to fix this. They actually came out with the multi homescreen solution first and they'll probably solve this problem first too.

I wouldn't be surprised to see what Cols brought up. Such as "Sync only [insert category of apps] to this iPhone".

I wonder if when you buy an app if it is only for one iPhone. In iTunes, you can sync your music with as many ipods as you want. When I get 3G and give hubby v1, I assume that I can put his stuff in his iPhone and my stuff in my iPhone from the same iTunes account. So, will the apps for iPhone by sync-able with any iPhone we have, or just one iPhone?

That would make sense if the app store works this way, probably will

Also, depending on the price of the Apps, you might not be wanting all 4,000. At even $10 each that's a nice little iTunes charge.

i'm sure there will also be some data management apps like launchers, organizers (something like categories), etc.

don't worry, it'll be okay. they want your money.

Who needs more than 140 applications on their phone? I have 133 application items in my Applications Folder on my Mac but that includes multiple word processors, browsers, and a bunch of utilities that I use once a year.

What?

I know no one is going to use all 4,000 apps. His original quote was that there was only room for 140 icons on the phone (9 screens). My point was, "No one will need to carry 140 different applications in their phone. Nine screens is plenty.
