I just got my wife a new ipod Nano to replace her old one. For some reason I thought she would not lose anything. But when she plugged this Nano in, all her Playlists disappeared. What's the best way to recreate them? She has 2 gigs worth of music, and recreating her playlists by hand is going to be a pain.

Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks.

The playlists should have synced to iTunes. Are the playlists still in place on the older Nano?

Yes they are..., It's odd. I didn't really watch my wife set up the new one. I just heard her say that none of her playlists were there. So I looked in iTunes and they were gone. They are still available on the old ipod. However, when I plug it in. iTunes wants to send what she set up now, to the old Nano.

I do have a backup of her old iTunes on another laptop. I'm wondering if I can pull a file from that, and recreate them that way.
