(1) When you receive an SMS message on your iPhone while one of your SMS-relay-enabled Macs is off, the alert will come in once you turn said Mac on. It just happened to me. I wonder how many days' worth of SMS text messages will be "held" for you while your Mac is off? I.e., If you've had your Mac off for, say, two weeks, and have received 100 SMS text messages on your iPhone, will all of those pour in once you turn your Mac on?

(2) QuickType from iOS 8 is available on OS X Yosemite. It may not help your typing speed much, but, worst case scenario, it can help you finish a song or a Haiku if you've got writer's block:
