I Planning on making a switch from T-mobile to AT&T not for the service but for the better line up of phones (G1 sucks btw), Im planning on getting the iPhone off ebay or off Apples website. And im going for the 700 Family talk plan 69.99

How much is the 3G Data plan is going to run me? I hear its 30 bucks + 200 Text messages? Im kind of a huge texter Correct me if im wrong here.

If theres anything else i should know about switching to AT&T and with the plan im getting please let me know, thanks!

30$ for the data plan but you don't get 200 txts with it anymore. Now it's 5$ for 200 15$ for 1500 or 20$ for unlimited. You can get a v1 (old iPhone) unlocked and use it on t mobile.

I have 2 lines, about $140 a month with the 200 text plan. One is a 3G and one is an V1 phone.

Darn you guys and your discounts!
Dumb me went a year before even thinking about looking to see if I could get one. Been with ATT a lot longer, but discount wouldn't have amounted to much until the iPhone 3G. Discounts apply to the voice plan and any other service over $30, so the $20 V1 data plan would get no discount.

You get it from your place of employment, right?

My dad get's a nice discount with Verizon, but, alas... I'm going against the grain. The Storm's just not doin' it for me.

Yeah, it's from your work usually.

I totally agree about the Storm. Big and bulky and the "touch screen" is too much trouble.

IMHO, making the whole touch screen one large button really defeats the purpose of a touch screen! iPhone has it right with the capacitive, I would say.

And the GUI on the Storm? It looks like it was made for toddlers!

yes check with your employer. I didn't find out until i got the iPhone that i got a discount. I have been with cingular/AT&T for years and didn't know that. I get 24% off, which is pretty good. Now my girlfriend wants to get an iPhone, but she is going to wait until the summer when the 4G/tablet comes out. Me too:)
