I messed with one of those for about half a day. Not a terrible device.

Not sure if it has changed, but do you still need to have a Blackberry phone for your Outlook email to work on the Playbook?
No idea. I never set an email up with it. Just played some videos, games, music and stuff. To get a feel for it. Didn't seem to have a lot of apps available though. At least not the ones I was interested in.

Yup, the native email and BBM client is still missing. Also it's Androidbox is flaky and slow at running apps.

Just picked up the 16gb playbook for $200. I already have the ipad2 and got this for my wife for reading so she doesn't have to monopolize the ipad :) It is a pretty decent device but the app selection is poor. The size is kinda nice for portability and typing.
