Playing chess live online via iPhone?

I don't have an iphone----yet....

I am wondering if there are ways to play on any of the major Chess servers (ICC, FICS, etc) using an iPhone. The clients I know of require java, but are there ways to play on these servers that I don't know of that don't require java?

Or in any case, are there people here who play chess live online using an iPhone, by any means at all?

I'm also interested in playing Go, if you know what that is.

There are at least two native iPhone apps that allow online play with friends or strangers. Chess Online and Chess With Friends.

I've played Chess With Friends against random opponents and with a friend, and like it a lot - it's a very solid app. Works over Edge, 3G, and WiFi and is a free app ...

We developed Chess, Go and more multiplayer games - Live Online for iOS
As you can see by the title it's online and live and there are games that you like :)
Search for it on App Store.

Have fun.

Patrickj made some good recommendations. I've played Chess With Friends on several occasions and, if memory serves me right, I lost every time. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a "major chess server." Interesting!
