When I plug in iPhone, on a Macintosh, it brings iTunes to the foreground. Not only that, it opens the iTunes window from its past minimized state.

I just want to charge the darn thing in the dock, not manage it. I turned off auto-sync, it still does it, though it no longer syncs on auto, which is nice.

Anyone know how to make this go away?

Wall charger, yeah, thought of that, Apple is not so generous as to give me another cord. I will need to sync on at least a weekly basis.

How about putting a check in the 'disable automatic synching for all iPhones and iPods' option in preferences?

Or take out the tick 'Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected' from the iPhone device settings.

This will stop iTunes from opening when you dock. (it does on mine)

It is a pain to use the wall charger with only one docking station. I solved this when I got the iPhone headset that comes with an additional dock and cable. Now I have one plugged into the wall charger all the time and another available for syncing with my laptop.
