I've got a Sprint account that I recently renewed. I want to port the number over to AT&T for an iPhone this summer (if V3 is released). I know I'll have to pay the ETF of about $200 and that's fine. Is it possible to port a Sprint number that is still under contract or will that contract prohibit me from porting over to AT&T?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter. You just have to call sprint and have them port it over to AT&T.

When I ported my other sprint number to AT&T last summer, I didn't have to call sprint. My contract was up on that line, though, so I think that may be why sprint had to let it go through without me even calling them.

Does anyone know if the sprint contract will stop the port when AT&T tries to put it through?

Nevermind. I just got off the phone with sprint. They said the contract will not stop the port from going through. It will port over to AT&T, cancel my sprint acct, and tack the $200 early termination fee onto my final bill.
