I was getting about 2.5 hours of standby time on my 10 month old 3G. With an appt. I took it in to a Tech.

He checked for water damage, hooked it up to a MacBook and "ran some tests". Afterwards he unpackaged a shiney new "refurb" and sent me on my way. Great process, took all of 20 minutes.

Some notes I picked up (for those that don't already know):

  • The warranty does not extend out another year with the new phone. You will only continue your current warranty.
  • No official release date for the non-Beta 3.0 update
  • The gal next to me had a broken mute switch that was no longer under warranty but they replaced it for free for being a known issue.
  • There's a good chance we'll hear something about the new iPhone June 8th.

Good to see you didn't have much of an issue. My battery has been horrendous lately. I had it on standby for about an hour earlier and at least 25% of the battery had drained. I'll probably wait until after the WWDC to get it replaced though.
