I'm trying to shift through all the information that's being posted in regards to apps that help to locate stolen or misplaced iPhones. So far I've come across gadget trak, prey anti-theft, device locator, and of course find my iPhone/icloud. I know for the later it won't be helpful if someone wipes your phone. There's also igotya but it would have to been jailbroken and I don't want to attempt to do that. What types of apps do you guys use, and if so are they successful? A major complaint that I've read about this apps is that they fail to take a picture of the person, after awhile.

I just tested it and see that's in the general area I'm in, how much distance can it pinpoint? Were you guys able to locate your phone using this?

I'm using my computer to find my iPhone, I see the map what would I select to see the address?

Using the FindMyiPhone app: click on the device you want to find, click on car icon and the map opens up, click on the green pin and it will give you the address.

Does this work if the phone is off or if someone resets it? Also this is unrelated but once it's reset does all of the apps disappear?
