Just saw this on Twitter, no indication of when it will be released but I know many people would appreciate this functionality. This is the same guy that developed the Springtomize jailbreak tweaks that I've found very useful.

StifleStand: put the Newsstand icon inside a folder on any device running iOS 5.x/6.x (even unjailbroken ones) http://filippobiga.com/sstand.png

Edit: Now available, apparently only for Mac: http://filippobiga.com/stiflestand/

Windows version coming soon.

This is good info. Really need a way to get that thing into a folder. Sick of looking at it. I barely use it.

Thanks for posting about it! (y)

Just downloaded the zip file, extracted it and ran the program. It did NOT work on iPhone5 with IOS6.
That's too bad, I guess it's not as advertised then. :(

Has anyone had success with this on any device/iOs version?

Thanks. I searched for "Newsstand" before posting this and that didn't show up. Not sure why.

Don't use Newsstand and want to hide it in a folder? I can confirm that this new method works on stock iPhones running iOS 6.o. (y)

It's Mac-only right now, but a Windows version should be available soon. Newsstand must be empty for this to work.

I would give you 1,000 likes for this if I could! Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting the link... I really loathe that Newsstand icon and now it's gone!

:)

I wonder if this might have something to do with it?
No, I don't have anything in Newsstand. Thanks.
[Edit] Also. I am running Mountain Lion on my Mac. The program runs, then says done, yet the newsstand will not go into any folder, nor combine with any item to make a folder. Oh well.
[Extra Edit] Out of curiosity, I ran this on my iPhone 4 and it hid the newsstand(with items in it) in a folder called "magic". That was kinda cool but odd. It will not work on my ip5.
