I tried QuickPwn but it does seem to be working

Do any of these actually work for an original iPhone
with firmware 2.1?

Yes, they should. Only the iPhone 3G cannot be unlocked. Are you sure you had the proper settings selected?

I looked at a bunch of walkthroughs and theyre all the same
But I keep coming up with the same problem.

The T-Mobile logo is on top and there are bars for signal
I can even call it and call from it if I use the Emergency
dial key pad. It just shows the USB to iTunes thing on
the front telling me to connect and that it detects a different sim

Lincoln's right. I jailbroke and unlocked V1.1.4 using Pwnage Tools. The first time I did, I did not select the correct settings WRT the bootneuter. When you go back to customize your IPSW, pay close attention this step. I did and it worked.

Hmm

So your saying I should try using Pwnage
instead of QuickPwn? During QuickPwn
there is no Bootneuter

OH! One last question!

When I do the unlocking, what Should I have in the Sim slot?

it shouldn't matter. I can say from experience though that you CANNOT use quickpwn to unlock the v1 iPhone. You mustu se pwnage or winpwn.

Ok so I used Winpwn to unlock it

But everytime I get to the restoring it
with the custom made restore winpwn

Im following exactly every single step

I don't know what Im doing wrong
