The keyboard to me is as good as any of the smart phones out there. the only difference is that it's touch screen and it does have all the symbols. (according to me) :laugh2:

No, the iPhone's keyboard is not complete. For $600, you'd think I wouldn't have to \/\/rit3 lik3 t|-|is...

Kidding of course...It's complete. :laugh2:

It's really easy to access - you just click a little button that says ".?123" and it takes you to a screen with the numbers and symbols. These are the symbols that the iPhone has:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0
- / : ; ( ) $ & @ "
# + = . , ? ! '

The iPhone does not have NEARLY as many characters as the treo.

However, if you text anyone with those characters that the treo has, they will show up only as ? marks to anyone who does not have one.

The iPhone has the majority of the characters you will ever use, and then some.

Yes, it does.

After you hit the ".?123" key in SMS, you also have the option to hit the "#+=" key which gives you stuff like []{}#%^*+=_\|~<>¥·.,?!'
I like the keyboard and feel it is complete, but I am not thrilled with the correction software. It only offers one possible other word if you make a mistake and sometimes that is not the word I want. Furthermore it often makes you type in the entire word minus one letter before offering a suggestion. This is not the best feature of the iPhone. That said I still like the device.
