Well, finally got my shipment confirmation and tracking number yesterday. They say it will be here Wednesday. May have to put some pressure on my brother who's a manager with the Purple and Orange to see if he can get it here sooner. Ok, maybe not, since it's just going into hiding til Christmas. But I am a bit antsy still.

My first impressions:
  • Easiest setup ever for any Apple product
  • Beautiful interface, very intuitive, and easy navigation
  • Siri doesn't always work, says disconnected at times
  • Lack of content in the app store, but I'm sure that will improve
Overall, I'm very pleased and will get a lot of use out of my new Apple TV. It is especially nice if you already have an 'Apple ecosystem' as many who have iPads and iPhones do.

So at 11:28 AM today, it landed at the local airport in Kenai, AK, and as of 11:30 it was on the vehicle for delivery. FedEx says it will be delivered by 8 PM tonight. I'm guessing sometime between 4 and 6 PM

I picked mine up at the UPS hub earlier today. I'm going to set it up in a few minutes.

But what I want to know is, who's the new underling in the house, as NO ONE has the first initial A.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.........

My thoughts on it after a few days use? Meh!

The remote is terrible and works about half the time. Some swipe features only work in certain areas so deciding which work and where is a challenge.

Lack of apps available and Siri is half baked..

Not diggin it right now, Hopefully OS updates can fix some of the problems and I am sure more apps will come in time. As of right now, it's not worth the purchase...

I'm most disappointed in the big name third party apps already there. Netflix and Hulu are flippin awful.

hard to explain. but in general, the things you want easily accessible (like a list of shows/movies to resume watching, or your watch list) are buried under a bunch of other categories you have no interest in. also, ~50% of the screen is taken up with pretty screen caps from the shows, leaving less room for shows to browse easily.

oh, and then all the horizontal scrolling one item at a time. Blegh.
